Marvell’s storage accelerator solutions enable high-performance SSD and high-capacity HDD storage to be optimally deployed and managed in cloud data centers and enterprises.
Storage Accelerators
With data growth proliferating, it is becoming paramount for data infrastructure to efficiently scale. Marvell is leveraging its broad portfolio of compute, networking and storage technologies to deliver innovative architecture solutions that are revolutionizing how data storage is connected, processed and managed.
NVMe-oF Ethernet Controller
The Marvell 88SN2400 enables a revolutionary architecture that supports true scalable, high-performance disaggregation of storage from compute by bringing low latency access over the fabric and exposing the entire SSD bandwidth to the network by using a simple, low-power and compute-less Ethernet fabric instead of a traditional PCIe fabric controlled and managed by an enterprise-class server SoC with integrated network interface controllers.
- Storage disaggregation
- NVMe-oF Ethernet SSDs
- Ethernet Bunch of Flash (EBOF)
NVMe Accelerators
The Marvell® 88NR2241 is an intelligent NVMe accelerators that enables data centers to aggregate, increase reliability and manage resources between multiple NVMe SSD controllers. By extending Marvell SATA/SAS legacy controllers feature set into the NVMe space, the 88NR2241 creates enterprise- class performance, system reliability, redundancy, and serviceability with NVMe SSDs.
- NVMe server boot cards
- SSD QoS for storage virtualization
SATA Controllers
The Marvell 88SE14xx family of PCIe to SATA 6Gb/s host controllers offers an ideal cost effective solution for connecting Serial ATA (SATA) peripherals to a PCI Express (PCIe) 3.0 host, delivering up to 8GB/s bandwidth. The controllers support up to 16 SATA ports for SSD or HDD connectivity for cloud and archival applications.
- Complete SATA controller product portfolio address the needs of Consumer, SMB, and Enterprise customers.
- A leading supplier of SATA solutions since SATA’s inception and continues to participate in the leadership of SATA I/O.
- First to supply both SATA host, SATA PM, SATA Bridges and drive SOCs for each SATA generation
- SATA controllers are used by SATA IO for certifying SATA device
SATA-to-PATA Bridge
The SATA-to-PATA bridge enables manufacturers to use legacy PATA controllers by taking advantage of SATA connectivity. Similarly, this product can connect SATA devices to PATA host without upgrading chipset of host systems.
- 1.5/3.0 Gb/s SATA operation, SATA logo 1.1 compliant
- Host mode—PATA HBA to SATA HDD bridge
- Device mode—SATA HBA to PATA HDD bridge
SAS/SATA Controllers
Marvell offers a wide range of Serial Attached SCSI (SAS) IO and RAID-on-Chip (RoC) controllers targeting the mission critical enterprise storage applications, energy efficient data centers and cloud computing environments. Leveraging Marvell’s industry leading PHY technology and robust IPs, our SAS controllers are optimized for performance without compromising reliability, scalability and power efficiency.
- High performance, low latency without embedded CPU
- High connectivity and scalability
- GPL open source Linux driver for distribution and platform compatibility
- Lowest power consumption at <0.6 watt/port
SAS to SATA Protocol Converters
The Marvell 88SF9210/9110/9118 are 6Gbps SAS-to-SATA bridge chips, enabling cost-effective, high-capacity SATA drives to be used in high availability (HA) enterprise storage systems. This product series contains two integrated SAS target ports, and one or two integrated SATA host ports. The bridge chips allow standard single port SATA HDDs or SSDs to function as dual-ported SAS SSP target devices.
- Dual port SAS 2.x compliant (6Gb/s support)
- Single or Dual SATA 3.0 compliant (6Gb/s support)
- Active/active full duplex
- Non-512 byte sector size translation
